Do You Have The Courage To See The Real You?

We see others all the time and knowingly (or not) assign labels and stereotypes–what Kate Maree O’Brien calls “stories.” People see the story of who they think you are, without caring to look at who you really are. This video shows Kate’s face changing from one look to another as she demonstrates that, really, we can’t tell who she is just by looking at her. And just the same, we can’t tell who we are just by looking at and boxing ourselves in.

Do you have the courage to see yourself for who you really are? As good enough? Better than good enough? When you can truly see yourself, you will then be able to see who others really are too.

Watch this video and share with others for some motivation to get to know, and love, the real you!

A Simple Message That Will Make You Cry

We don’t usually have the perspective regret offers us until it’s too late. But we can learn from what so many others have said: be present and appreciate your loved ones. Although not always apparent, we all want to connect, love, and be loved, so making it a priority can help create a fulfilling, regret-free life.

Kate Maree O’Brien depicts herself first as an older woman with regret. Through movie magic, she fortunately has a second chance to be young again and do the things she’s always wanted to do: spend time with the kids and the family.

It sometimes feels like we will have so much time, so we tell ourselves that when we have more money or more free time, then we’ll do what we really want to. But the reality is we don’t know how much time we have. And unlike Kate in this video, we don’t have a do-over. But there is a way to ensure we don’t have regrets. Live now!

Fail Like A Child

As little kids, we haven’t had the time or the brain power to intellectualize our world, to develop false ideas about our capabilities. In this video, Jay Shetty recreates a conversation he had with a new father. They observe the child and recall that all of us learned to walk by falling over and over again. But we always got back up and tried again. We didn’t even think about it or get discouraged and think “this is too hard.” We just got back up and, after a while, we all became expert walkers.

Just because we are older does not mean we have to impose limitations and feel irreversibly crushed when we fail. Tapping into our younger selves can help us readopt the mentality of blind persistence. Of course we are going to fail. It’s part of succeeding!

Check out this impactful conversation about failing like a child. Share this post to remind others that we’ve all been persistent since the beginning and don’t have to stop now.

A Lesson About Failure from a Child

We can learn so much from children. This is based on a real life conversation. Share this with a friend who is having a tough time! Thanks Jay Shetty

What Love Looks Like When it Works

Oh relationships. They can be a source of so many twisting and turning emotions. But we are attracted to love so much because of the potential for how it can feel and what it can be. Love can transform whole worlds. Two people coming together can create this feeling of wholeness, impenetrable by the daily worries that usually seem to take hold of us.

Then there’s the flipside: we’ve probably all felt the disappointment, the heartbreak, that comes within human relationships; however, especially if you’ve begun to lose hope, this video by Jason Silva, with it’s touching words and images, can restore your view of the power of loving relationships.

Share the link to remind others too the way love can bring so much peace to the world!

The Secret to Happiness? Spend Money on Experiences, Not Things

Happiness can seem like this elusive goal we all are trying to reach. That’s also kind of the issue: as long as we try to reach happiness as a goal, it will elude us. When we get to what we think will make us happy–the new job, the car, the house–we will soon find ourselves looking for the next possession to make us happy.

Jason Silva understands that possessions do not have enduring happy-making effects. Rather, it’s all the experiences along the way that enhance our life experience. Listen to him talk about his secret to happiness; it’s not really one of those secrets you have to keep, so feel free to share with others!

The Power Of Making A Simple Decision

Peter Dinklage, aka Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones, was once just a regular guy who felt stuck in his mundane data processing job. Despite his unhappiness, he stayed at the job, being fearful of what change might entail. I’m sure many of us can relate, no?

Well, at 29 he made a decision: no matter what, he would, from then on, be a working actor. And indeed, he’s been a working actor ever since. You might be older than 29, but it’s really never too late to start something entirely new.

Maybe hearing Peter’s story will be enough of a push to go staunchly and unapologetically in the direction of your dreams. To hear his take, watch this short video, and share with your people!
